'Reliability improvements' see web satisfaction levels increase | | 2009/10/29 | |
Internet user satisfaction levels have increased during 2009, mainly due to improvements in web reliability, it has been reported.
According to the JD Power and Associates 2009 Internet Service Provider Residential Customer Study, overall satisfaction rates currently stand at 639 on a 1,000-point scale.
This represents a rise of 22 index points on 2008, the study showed, while a 43 point rise from 644 to 687 was seen over reliability issues potentially indicating better use of website monitoring services this year.
Frank Perazzini, director of telecommunications at JD Power and Associates, said that in many cases, a household's internet connection acts as the backbone of its voice, video and information services.
"This makes the provider's ability to provide a fast, reliable connection particularly critical," he added.
"As households become more dependent on services provided via the internet, eliminating outages and providing consistent connection speeds will become necessities in web service providers' business models." Last week, Robert Johnson told IT Business Net that firms now rely upon website availability for their operations. |
