Beijing Games subject to website performance monitoring | | 2008/08/15 | | Website performance monitoring is in place to gather data on how successfully Olympic online coverage is being handled.
Several high-profile Olympic-related websites and mobile sites are under scrutiny by Keynote Systems to assess performance and availability, Internet Retailer reports.
Five news and sports sites are being examined along with 12 major sponsors' websites and 15 sites containing dedicated Olympic information from over 100 locations around the world.
Keynote is collecting data for its 2008 Olympics Web Performance Index using its Transaction Perspective solution which employs Internet Explorer to gain a home-based surfer's view of web performance.
For mobile sites, the Mobile Application Perspective solution will collect data to evaluate availability and response times from ESPN, CNN, NBC Olympics, MSN and Yahoo Olympics.
Website information is being gathered in real-time every quarter of an hour while the mobile monitoring is conducted on the hour from four locations in the US using AT&T and T-Mobile among others. |
