Blogs help drive traffic to websites | | 2009/12/16 | | Blogs are a powerful tool that can be used to drive traffic to an existing website.
To spread the word about a site and in turn promote a business, blogging could be the answer, according to social networking site Gather.
Posting blogs helps generate more customers and provide a better service to the ones a business already has as they have a more personal feel than static sites.
"Prospects and customers alike will feel more in tune with who you are and feel like they know you more," Gather highlights.
Internet consultancy MintTwist has also shared some of its top tips on blogging for business.
It suggested that as most traffic comes from first-time visitors, it is important to make it easy to find exactly the information they are looking for by developing tailored blogs for specific products or services.
Once a series posts have been created and traffic to the site has been increased, it is important to ensure that it continues to run smoothly using website monitoring services. This means that visitors won't experience problems when viewing the site as they are identified immediately.
