Broadband is UK mothers' tool | | 2008/06/25 | | When seeking parental advice, mothers are now more likely to turn to information accessible on the internet rather than consult family members, new research has proven.
A study by BT found that some 47 per cent of mums in the UK now rely on the web first when looking for guidance on how to bring up children.
Friendship and support is another reason many Mums are looking at online avenues, with just under half (42 per cent) of those quizzed saying they had made a friend online.
BT Futurologist Lesley Gavin commented: "No matter where they are or what time they log on, the internet can help mums to seek advice and reliable information about a hundred different things at the click of a button," commented BT Futurologist Lesley Gavin.
Also discovered was that 42 per cent of mothers have considered setting up a home business using the internet.
