Call of Duty outage fears 'allayed' | | 2009/11/13 | | Fears over widespread internet outages following the release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have not been realised, it has been reported.
According to Techwatch, the national broadband network stood up to the demands placed on it by a rise in online gamer traffic this week.
Fears had been raised that increased demand for bandwidth could lead to connection difficulties potentially prompting the use of website monitoring services.
However, the website reported that "most of the UK's gamers are going around with a huge smile on their faces" as their enjoyment of the new release has not been affected by service quality issues.
"It seems the broadband network stayed intact," Techwatch stated, adding: "Online gaming is huge, but the user requires a decent connection to fully enjoy the game without experiencing any lag."
The Call of Duty release the latest in a franchise which dates back to 2003 is available to internet users with access to a PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. |
