Franklin County site experiences downtime | | 2010/06/24 | | The Franklin County site recently experienced a period of downtime, it has been revealed, which may encourage other organisations to make use of website monitoring services.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, the site was unavailable for around four hours earlier in the week.
Due to the outage, the deadline for property tax payments has been extended by Franklin County, from this Monday (June 21st) until Friday.
A large number of people are said to have got in touch with the organisation in response to the period of website downtime.
Speaking to the news provider, Ed Leonard, treasurer for the county, stated that the frustration caused by the incident has led to the later tax deadline being introduced.
According to Franklin County, people were unable to access its website on Monday night during the period between 17:20 and 21:20 local time.
