High traffic causes golfer's site to crash | | 2010/06/25 | | Due to a large volume of traffic, the website of one golfer recently experienced a period of downtime, it has been revealed.
Speaking in an article published by BBC News, US Open winner Graeme McDowell noted the effect that public demand had on his website.
He stated: "My website crashed on Sunday afternoon because of the traffic coming through."
The sports star also told the news provider that a large number of well wishers have sent him text messages since he won the golf competition earlier this month.
A single shot won Mr McDowell the title at the Pebble Beach course.
Earlier in the week, the Columbus Dispatch reported on the downtime that was recently experienced by the Franklin County website.
