House husbands turn to internet marketing | | 2008/06/23 | | A growing number of men with young children could turn towards internet marketing as a way of earning a sound income while spending time at home, new reports suggest.
One such individual, former community worker John Yeo of Singapore, recently detailed how he plans to give up a nine to five job upon the birth of his first child in order to concentrate on blogging.
Mr Yeo estimates he could earn $10,000 a month in advertising from his already well-read blog, set up to account his wedding day and now the most popular wedding blog in Singapore.
"When a man gets married, the next natural stage is to have children," said Mr Yeo.
He continued: "I love kids and I want to be there for my child after he is born, experiencing his every first, be it his first word or first step."
It is estimated that some 98 per cent of home-based internet marketers go into the business without the necessary know-how required to be successful.
