Internet widening graduate prospects | | 2008/06/20 | | The wealth of information and advertisements on the internet means that it has never been easy for graduates to research and apply for jobs after leaving university, according to one expert.
Jayne Rowley, publishing director for Graduate Prospects - an organisation which specialises in bringing university leavers together with their future employers - says that students are now able to target searches at the sector they are most interested in with the use of RSS technology.
She commented: "It's not so much the numbers of opportunities that have grown, as much as the accessibility of them.
"The proliferation of job boards and the availability of online application systems mean it's never been easier to see the full range of possibilities open to you."
As well as being able to share job opportunities through Facebook groups, graduates now enjoy the chance to receive text alerts of vacancies which may interest them.
