New iPhone set to be popular choice | | 2008/06/19 | | The new Apple iPhone, featuring downloading capabilities twice as fast as its predecessors, is set to be a popular choice with customers, according to a mobile phone analyst.
Huw Morgan, editor of mobilechoiceuk.com, has expressed his view that a number of factors will contribute to making the new model a fast seller.
He said: "The most important thing for most people is the 3G inclusion as it is faster. I think the maps for GPs will also be very popular with consumers.
"In the UK O2 is going to be the exclusive operator and they have dropped the price of the iPhone because one of the previous criticisms was it too expensive."
The updated handset is built on GPS technology and has iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
Consumer interest in the 3G iPhone is almost four times more than it was for its 2G predecessor, the Daily Telegraph claims.
