Ryanair web monitoring reveals OFT breaches | | 2008/07/24 | | Ryanair could be at risk of being pulled up by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) because issues with its website prevent it from complying with recently introduced sales rules.
One ticket sales page of the airline's website remains in breach of OFT regulations, which require all fixed non-optional costs to appear in all adverts for air fares.
However, ongoing website monitoring has revealed that the firm has been in breach of the new rules since June 25th due to a service error.
Ryanair officials claim that its engineers are finding the problem difficult to fix because web page monitoring shows it experiences high usage.
A spokesperson for the airline suggested that it was not possible to say when the problem was likely to be fixed.
He said: "The full price needs to be shown on the earliest available web page which in our case is page two. They are currently shown on page three.
"This is a problem with our system and we have people working to try and fix it."
