Security monitoring technology 'seems to be improving' | | 2010/06/29 | |
When it comes to security monitoring, the technology that is available to businesses appears to be improving, an expert suggests.
According to Equifax's external affairs director Neil Munroe, firms may need to increase their use of internal security monitoring techniques in order to deal with issues such as fraud.
He stated: "In times of financial stress, this type of activity - fraud and various other types of security issues around that - increases. People get increasingly desperate."
As a result, Mr Munroe feels that it might well prove to be something of a "false economy" if firms do cut back on their use of security.
The remarks made by the expert follow the publication of figures from ABM earlier this month, which relate to the problem of fraud.
Organisations considering the use of security measures such as website monitoring services may be interested to note that of those companies polled in a survey by the firm, 49 per cent have seen fraud rise in the last two-year period. |
