Security site in security breach | | 2008/07/22 | | A Turkish internet hacker by the name of 'm0sted' has attacked Kaspersky's Malaysian website.
The Russian security company's website was compromised on Saturday through SQL injection as was one of its shopping sites, according to Roberto Preatoni writing for Zone-H - an organisation dedicated to logging such attacks.
Kaspersky has since locked down the site and visitors need a user name and password for access.
The attack requires the hacker to input code into a form on a web page to try to get the back-end database to respond and this can enable the hacker to gain control over the website.
Kaspersky was not immediately available to comment but Mr Preatoni said that while the attacks could be purely vandalism, there could be wider and more far-reaching ramifications.
Zone-H's archive includes details of other security incidents at Kaspersky's site but Kaspersky isn't alone as a security company who is constantly picking thorns out of their sides. |
