Today will be busiest online shopping day, predicts IMRG | | 2009/12/07 | | Today will be the busiest online shopping day of the year, predicts the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG).
The research, which was conducted for the IMRG e-Customer Service Index bye-DigitalResearch, found that £350 million would be spent online on Monday December 7th.
It found that 93 per cent of shoppers planned to do their Christmas shopping online this year.
Three-quarters of those questioned said that they would do half or more of their shopping for presents online.
David Smith, director of operations at IMRG, said: "Online retail has consistently delivered double digit growth throughout 2009 as consumers switch to the convenience and price savings available on the internet."
IMRG is a membership community for the e-retail industry which helps its members to keep up with developments in the marketplace.
With online retail constantly growing it is essential to make sure sites take advantage of website monitoring services to pick up any problems on busy online shopping days such as today. |
