Websites 'helping firms drive trade'

2009/10/15

A growing number of businesses are using their websites to attract new customers and drive trade, it has been reported.

Research carried out by Citibank and GfK Roper indicates that 42 per cent of firms have generated more new business leads via their website over the last 12 months.

This proportion rises to 57 per cent among companies with 20 to 99 employees, highlighting the importance of their web offering in a tough business environment.

With online portals and marketing materials playing a key role in boosting profits, the benefits of using website monitoring services to ensure continued uptime are clear.

Research conducted by broadbandchoices.co.uk recently indicated that 70 per cent of web users feel let down by speeds which do not meet their expectations.

The firm reported that consumers are more concerned about reliability than any other aspect of broadband service.

Michael Phillips, product director of Broadbandchoices.co.uk, said it was"troubling" that many customers' service is seen as a disappointment.ADNFCR-1362-ID-19411173-ADNFCR
